MORE DETAILS ABOUT WF 2012 OTHER INSTRUMENTS WORKSHOPSMADDIE MacNEILSINGING for the JOY OF SINGINGWant to sing? That's the only "requirement" for this workshop. We'll work on ways to make singing easier for you while expanding the voice's range. Most important, we'll sing in harmony with each other and enjoy our individual voices. PERFORMING IDEAS AND TECHNIQUESThere are many wonderful opportunities for us to perform, and there are many ways we can prepare via "stage" setups, set lists, introductions, and, of course, responses to the listeners' grateful applause. We'll explore. ANNETTE LINDSEYPIANO (KEYBOARD) BACKUP FOR OTHER INSTRUMENTSYou will need to be familiar enough with the piano that you know where the notes are. The first hour we will work on how to know when to change the chord and what to change to and where to locate the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions for those chords. Visuals will be provided. The second hour we will work on technique when you are chording behind an instrument to give it that oomph and hopefully get a little practice in playing with an instrument. Bring a small (66 key or larger) keyboard with you so that you can have hands-on experience. It's what will make the difference in how much you learn from this class. We will try to have several extras for those who don't have keyboards.
